Royal Naval Writers’ Association (RNWA)

Our website address is: http://www.rnwa.co.uk

As a member-based organisation the Royal Naval Writers’ Association needs to be able to contact its members on a range of business including membership issues, the annual reunion dinner, annual general meeting, grand national draw, newsletters etc. We like to keep you informed of developments in the RNWA upcoming news, events and notifying you of members who have “crossed the bar”. We do this using all modern communication media including our internet web site, e mail, telephone, post and text messages.

In order for us to do this we must have your contact details and thus we hold your names, addresses, telephone numbers, email address and some bank account details to enable us to process membership fees and donations. At any time, you can ask us to provide details of any data we hold on you and you can amend or remove any details if you so wish.

“Our Promise to You” – Data Protection Policy.

Your personal information is protected and processed securely and in accordance with the General Data Protection regulations 2018. We will use your data to process your fees and donations and to keep you informed on Association business. We will never sell, swap or pass your data onto any other organisation. Your data will be protected from compromise by use of strong and current computer security software and high security standards when handling and using it. Data will only be released to a government organisation in the highly unlikely circumstance that it demanded by law.

In order for us to meet the increased standard of data protection required by the latest Data Protection Act (The General Data Protection Regulations 2018) we must hold your written consent to communicate with you. (Also applies to all New members joining after the 25 th May 2018).
