Remembrance Sunday
Annual Veterans March Past of the Cenotaph
As one of the oldest military associations in the world it was agreed that, from 2024, we would make application to take part in the Annual March Past of Veterans, held each year on Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph in London. This is a significant, poignant and moving tribute that we can all, potentially, attend in order to recognise and remember those, of similar calling to our own, that paid the ultimate price as a part or result of their military service.
In the event that a place is awarded in the parade, and numbers of participants allocated, only the President or Vice President (as deputy) – as titular heads of the Association – will have a pre-allocated ticket. In the event that neither can attend, then their allocated place will be returned to the tickets for subsequent allocation as below.
All other tickets will either be allocated on a first come basis if there are less volunteers to take part than tickets available, or via an open and transparent draw process in the event that there are more volunteers than tickets available.
Each year, once the number of places are known, an email will be sent to all “subscribers” to our Newsletters, advising of the initial procedure to follow should they wish to be considered for a place in the RNWA Contingent at the march past.
For 2024, we have been allocated 20 places – if you have yet to receive your individual email, or have not subscribed to them but you are:
- A paid up member of the Association
- A veteran and
- Able to confirm that you will attend if selected,
then please click here to let our Secretary – who is organising our contingent on behalf of the committee – know that you wish to be considered. Please include your name, address, email address and phone number.
For 2024, the closing date for applications to be made is 1 August and, if a draw is required, this will take place on 2 August 2024.
They shall grow not old,
As we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
